Our panel weaves the story of Club history and traditions along with the importance of the beautiful green space the course provides our downtown. The discussion includes the struggle to save the course in the 1990s, and the turnaround that has produced one of the top nine hole courses in the world, as ranked by Inside Golf.
Listen to the stories of our evolving golf course which, among other changes, was used for grazing sheep and goats during WW I supplying much needed meat to the local area. Follow the story of how citizen activism saved the course from development and ironically, how the Covid pandemic brought life and viability back into the sport of golf.
Our thanks to WPHM Board Chair Paul Twyford, former City Mayor Gary Brewer, City Manager Randy Knight and golf industry professionals Gary Diehl and Bill Neidlinger for their contributions to this enlightening round-table discussion.
